Tim McGraw Turns His Focus To Sentimental Moments That Hold True Value

Tim McGraw shines a spotlight on some of the most special moments in life in the new music video for “Standing Room Only,” which premiered on Thursday (April 27). The country music giant kicks off the song in a gloomy junkyard, which brightens with scenes of a father and son throwing a baseball together, a mother and her daughters celebrating birthdays together and more.

“This video brings the song to life by really giving you a visual of shedding the past and bringing light, literally, to the old junk,” McGraw told CMT, which premiered the video early Thursday morning. “I love the metaphor of standing in a junkyard and watching it light up. Then we had these sweet vignettes – of a mother and son, of a dad and daughter and others, that showed old junk items coming to life because of their memories. I thought that was a cool concept. That it's not the ‘stuff’ but the memories of life we hold dear.”

McGraw knew as soon as he heard “Standing Room Only” — written by Craig Wiseman, Tommy Cecil and Patrick Murphy — that he wants to record it. He debuted the heartfelt single last month, calling it “so positive and life affirming,” and hoped it would serve as a “reminder to live a life filled with gratitude, and not take things for granted.”

“I love the perspective of ‘Standing Room Only’ and what it meant,” McGraw previously said, going on to reference one of his early 2000s smash-hit anthems. “And it’s more about life affirmation, just like ‘Live Like You Were Dying.’ It wasn’t about dying, it was about living. And to me, this song, it’s about going out and living life to the fullest, you know, and trying to be the best person you can be.”
