Charlotte Radio Icon, Paul Schadt, Announces Retirement on 96.9 The Kat

This may be the biggest announcement in the history of 96.9 The Kat. Radio Legend, our friend, Paul Schadt shared the news that he's retiring. Paul has been waking Charlotte up for the past 44 years and he's won many accolades during this time. From being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame back in 2014 along with tons of ACM and CMA nominations. He has been a trusting and loving voice that we all found comfort in for so many years. This Morning, we shared laughs and lots of tears. Producer Geof who has been working with Paul for 27 years is also retiring with him. (Talk about a double whammy to the heart)

My two favorite guys will still be on air until early next year as we try to find someone to fill their shoes. That's a ginormous task! And Paul will continue to be an iHeartRadio ambassador as he continues his legacy within the community. (He just won't have to wake up so early)

If you missed the big announcement, grab some tissues.... and take a listen to the rewind below.
