Country music singer and song writer Jimmy Wayne is being honored in a big way, with a mural on the side of the Joy Theatre in his hometown, Kings Mountain.
Kings Mountain Mayor Scott Neisler was excited to share the news, "The City of Kings Mountain is proud to honor Jimmy Wayne with this special mural at the Joy Performance Center. Jimmy's story, from his birth here in Kings Mountain, to his path to country stardom is remarkable. He deserves to be recognized in his hometown."
This means the world to Jimmy who shared, "When Mayor Neisler called to share the news with me, I was deeply honored. I hope the mural is a reminder to anyone who sees it, "no matter who you are, your dreams can come true - and it's ok to give God all the credit for your success."
Muralist, Scott Nurkin, who created many of the murals honoring North Carolina musicians will start his mural masterpiece on Saturday, May 15th and he hopes to have it completed by Friday, May 21st.
