Kane Brown posted a “sneak preview of a heavy song about depression,” he wrote in his caption as he shared a snippet of the unreleased song on Instagram on Wednesday night (January 10). The award-winning artist also said he wants anyone who finds it relatable to know they’re not alone.

“Sneak preview of a heavy song about depression and horrible thoughts and feelings that I feel like a lot of us go through but don’t like to talk about with other people . If you relate to the song at all just know you’re not alone and I love you ❤️,” Brown wrote in his caption. He added the lyrics in a comment: “Haunted by the voice in my head, haunted by the taste of that lead, I wanted too many times to jump off of the edge, thinking I was better off dead, I'm haunted only every other night, I'm haunted and I wish I new why, I wanted to many times to be gone by the mornin, if I’m honest, yea I’m haunted.”

The post has garnered more than 1,500 comments as of publication time on Thursday morning (January 11), including some heartfelt messages reiterating the reminder to those experiencing the feelings Brown describes isn’t alone.

Brown, who announced with his wife on Christmas Day that Baby No. 3 is on the way, released his latest full-length album in September 2022. Different Man included “Bury Me In Georgia,” “Like I Love Country Music,” “Grand,” “One Mississippi,” “Drunk or Dreaming’” and his smash-hit romantic duet with wife Katelyn Brown, “Thank God,” among other highlights on the 17-track project. Most recently, Brown unleashed his Phil Collins-inspired single, “I Can Feel It,” which he performed live for the first time at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Festival.
