You mess with a Hawaiian monk seal, you will get into some BIG trouble! A video has gone viral of a man walking up to a sleep monk seal and slapping it before running away. Akon's song "Smack That" was added to the video for comedic purposes. Not funny. The guys are now under investigation and claim they were on vacation and had no idea that it was illegal to touch the animal. They were also very apologetic and regretted their actions. The law protects Monk Seals and harassing them is a class C felony.
