Pumpkin carving sounded like a lot of fun but halfway through my son got bored and my husband and I are super competitive so I couldn’t just walk away from a half carved pumpkin! My husband, Rob, was being super Dad and carved a Teen Titans pumpkin for our son Bear
But I wanted to stick with a simple cutout from the pumpkin carving kit. (I know my strengths and weaknesses lol)
My husband destroyed me in the competition!!! If you haven’t carved a pumpkin yet, I have some helpful advice (learned from my mistakes)Thin out your pumpkin!! Don’t be in such a rush for the fun stuff. Your pumpkin will look better thinned out and it’s almost impossible to thin it more once you’ve started carving. Do the detailed parts first!! I made the mistake of carving out the big chunk pieces first (the moon) so when it came down to the delicate pieces, my pumpkin broke!!! If your pumpkin breaks don’t give up! I first tried tape then I tried saran-wrap, both of those slipped off but then I used toothpicks for the win! Have fun!!! Get tired before your spouse so they get stuck cleaning up the mess .... thank you to my wonderful husband for cleaning up mine!! He’s the pumpkin carving winner but I’m a winner in marriage!!!! Win - win!!
