K-9 Officer Dies After Being Left In A Hot Car

This is one of the saddest stories I've seen in a long time. Cherokee County Georgia School police Lt. Daniel Peabody said he simply forgot his K-9 was in the back of his car and she later died of heat exhaustion. The Lt. arrived home and went inside to deal with another dog, when he realized he had left Inka in the car, it was too late. He has since been taken off K-9 duty and will not receive another dog, but the question still remains: Should be be charge with animal cruelty?
