Howard Hitchcock, CEO, Lionel

Howard Hitchcock is the CEO of Lionel –home to the iconic Lionel Electric Trains and Lionel Racing, The Official Die-Cast of NASCAR. 

A native of central New Jersey and a graduate of Rider University, Hitchcock began his career with Lenox China and then moved into the world of collectibles with Waterford Crystal and The Hamilton Collection. One of his fondest accomplishments came when he was part of the team tasked with creating the Waterford Crystal New Year’s Eve Ball that was used in Times Square to ring in the new millennium. 

Before being named CEO, Hitchcock oversaw the company’s daily operations as Senior Vice President and General Manager and served in the same capacity at Lionel Racing since its inception in 2010. 

As CEO of Lionel, Hitchcock directs both the train and die-cast divisions of the business and leads the strategic planning and daily operations of the company. Under his leadership, Lionel has expanded its licensing partnerships to include Disney and Warner Brothers and opened its flagship store in Concord, N.C. with a second store planned for Nashville, Tenn. 

Hitchcock is also an innovation leader. Under his guidance, the company launched its LionChief® Bluetooth® App, a platform that gives model train enthusiasts the ability to control their trains via an iOS device.

When Hitchcock is not traveling the world for trains and racing die-cast, he can be found at home in Concord, N.C. where he resides with his wife, Michelle, and their two children, Anderson, and Jordan.
