Tyrann Mathieu truly is a Saint. And I'm not just talking a safety for the New Orleans football team! No, he is a Saint on earth and my heart is smiling so big after seeing what he did for 32 young men in the New Orleans community. He surprised these kids with a night of shopping for back to school and dinner!
But these aren't just any kids. These kids are part of Son Of A Saint. If you're not familiar with Son Of A Saint, they are a wonderful nonprofit organization that provides support to fatherless boys. There are over 300 boys and young men who receive their support annually. The boys can join at age 10 and remain in the program until they are 21, which are such important years for an organization like Son Of A Saint to be there for them.
And it is so incredible that someone like Tyrann Mathieu can be there for them too! As a New Orleans native and someone who grew up with his own father incarcerated, I'm sure Matheiu related to these kids on a unique level and gave them an extra dose of inspiration. I bet it was an incredible night for everyone involved.
