If you watched Sunday's NASCAR race from Pocono Raceway, you saw Deny Hamlin win and Kyle Busch finish in second. Denny then did what any winning driver would do, which was a great burnout. He was then met by his daughter Taylor in Victory Lane, who was bawling her eyes out over daddy's win, and then the celebration really began.
But a while later, NASCAR announced that both the 11 car of Denny Hamlin and the 18 car of Kyle Busch were disqualified for a piece of tape and a front end fascia issue, which could give an aerodynamic advantage to those two cars. NASCAR declared Chase Elliott the winner of the race, who never even led a lap, and moved every driver up by two spots in the finishing order with Hamlin and Busch credited with second to last and last place finishes, respectively.
Denny had two responses that made their way to social media. First was a picture of his daughter in Victory Lane with the caption "Can't take the memories away." That's the post that will tug at your heartstrings a bit, regardless of how you feel about the outcome of the race.
But then came the sense of humor response... and boy is it FUNNY! Come to find out, Denny was already on the plane back to North Carolina with the Pocono trophy and celebratory bottle of champagne when he learned that he had been disqualified. Instead of sending the trophy and champagne to Chase Elliott, Denny took to social media instead. He posted a video of him sitting at a table eating with the Pocono trophy and champagne sitting next to him. He then popped open the champagne, poured himself a glass, looked at it, and gave it a big drink. And best of all? The caption: "Live on EBay. 1 tainted trophy and 1 used bottle of champagne"
