Chatting With Chase Briscoe

If we've ever met or you've ever listened to my show, I'm sure you've picked up on the fact that I am a big NASCAR fan. Until his retirement in 2016, I was probably THE biggest Tony Stewart fan around, outside of his immediate family and the guy that owns the Dairy Queen in Tony's hometown in Indiana that sponsored his go-karts as a kid. When Tony retired, everyone asked who my new favorite driver was and my answer was always "the Stewart-Haas drivers! Gotta root for Tony's cars." But then I saw Chase Briscoe, an up-and-coming Stewart-Haas driver in an interview where he talked about how excited he was to be racing for Stewart-Haas and how he grew up in Indiana idolizing Tony Stewart. There was even a picture of young Chase dressed as Tony Stewart in his Joe Gibbs Racing/Home Depot days! It was at that moment that I knew that Chase Briscoe was my new favorite driver.

Chase Briscoe has been racing in the Xfinity Series since 2018. In 2018, he raced only 17 of the 33 races but scored his first career win at Charlotte's Roval. Chase became a full time Xfinity Series driver in 2019, chalked up another win, and finished a very respectable fifth in points, but this season, Chase has been on fire. He already has eight wins under his belt, 15 top fives, and he's the current points leader.

This weekend, Chase returns to the site of his first Xfinity Series win as Xfinity and IMSA take on the Charlotte Roval for a double-header Saturday and the Cup Series runs the Roval Sunday. This will be IMSA's first time running the Roval and the race will be under the lights. Fans are allowed and tickets are still available! Click here to get your tickets to catch the excitement, and check out my chat with Chase as we talk Roval, driving for his hero Tony Stewart (yeah, I had to "fan girl" and tell him the aforementioned story), and more. What a fun conversation!! I like this guy even more... and he was already my new favorite driver.

Here is that aforementioned picture of Chase. How great is this?!?

Here is Chase after his first career Xfinity Series win at the first ever Xfinity race on Charlotte's Roval in 2018. Hoping for a repeat this weekend!
