The search for a new head coach for the Carolina Panthers has been on since Ron Rivera was released on December 3rd. Riverboat Ron quickly landed another job, as he was announced as the new head coach of the Washington Redskins on New Years Day. As for the head coaching job at the Panthers, a lot of names have been thrown around, but it's looking as though all of that is coming to an end as multiple sources (including Pete Thamel with Yahoo Sports, who broke the story) are saying that Matt Rhule, the head coach of Baylor University's football team, is in. According to multiple reports, Panthers owner Devid Tepper made the trip to Waco to snag up Coach Rhule upon his return from vacation. As of my writing this, which is just past 11:15am on January 7th, the Panthers have not confirmed the news, but assuming these reports are correct, the announcement should be coming soon.
