Watch: Eric Church throws shade at Garth Brooks in concert

Since last week's CMA Awards, there has been a lot made of who DIDN'T win. When Garth Brooks took the trophy for Entertainer of the Year, it started a whole firestorm on social media of who "should have" won.

Nobody is disputing that Garth is great- Garth is the undeniable GOAT! The Greatest Of All Time! But the argument was made that the CMA Entertainer of the Year award was just that... Entertainer of the YEAR. This was not a lifetime achievement award. It was not an "all-time" award. It was an "of the year" award, and on paper, there is a strong case to be made that other artists had a better YEAR than Garth had, namely Carrie Underwood and Eric Church.

While Carrie has been pretty quiet on the subject, Eric Church took a moment at a concert in Washington DC over the weekend to poke a little bit of fun at the situation. He was covering Waylon Jenning's "Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way," and in a line of the song where the original sang "Singing my songs and one of his now and then, but I don't think Hank done 'em this way, no I don't think Hank done 'em this way," Chief changed the last line to "and I know Garth didn't do it this way," which sparked some cheers from the crowd and a smirk from Eric himself

Take a look. The changed line is around 1:00 into this video.
