A flip, a few "Big Ones," and a photo finish. Talladega did NOT disappoint!

If you're like me, you look forward to Talladega. Twice a year you plan your Sundays around watching the race from Talladega. And if you're like me, you were disappointed yesterday when the rains came and the race was delayed until today after stage one.

Hopefully that's where the comparison between you and I ends because I did something REALLY boneheaded... I messed up when setting my DVR and missed recording the last 30 laps of the race. To the internet I went! After staying away from social media all afternoon as to not find out who won, the first thing I inadvertently did was saw that Ryan Blaney won in a photo finish over Ryan Newman. Yay for Blaney winning... boo for finding out before finding highlights of the end of the race. The next thing I saw was highlights everywhere of Brendan Gaughan flipping! What a crazy corkscrew he pulled off! And that was just one of multiple "Big Ones" that Talladega had today.

So if you missed the last part- or any at all- here are the highlights.

First there was the Big One caused by Alex Bowman, who later took the blame for causing the wreck and apologized...

The came another Big One that happened when William Byron was turned into Joey Logano...

Somewhere in the midst of all of this, Clint Bowyer was weirdly stuck on the track

And then a came a third Big One where Brendan Gaughan went for his wild ride!

Now look... I know a LOT of race fans watch for the wrecks. There were some spectacular wrecks today and thankfully every driver walked away from every wreck just fine. But how can you not love a photo finish like THIS?! .007 of a second, the 6th closest in Dega history! WOW WOW WOW!!!!!

Congratulations to High Point's Ryan Blaney! What a finish! And he is now locked into NASCAR's Round Of Eight as he pursues a championship.

And by the way, it's a shame that Brendan Gaughan can't get a trophy for this interview!

While Eric Church sings "sure would like to stay in Talladega," I think it's safe to say that there are 39 guys ready to leave!!

On to Kansas!!!
