Season 28 of Dancing With the Stars got underway on ABC last night, and from the looks of it, it's going to be another great season! That said, there's something missing... rather someone missing times two: Sharna Burgess and Artem Chigvintsev.
If you've watched the show, you know that sometimes dancers sit out a season or leave the show for other reasons. And while fans certainly love Artem, I think it's safe to say that there was a lot of shock when the world found out that Sharna wouldn't be back. She has been a fan favorite for the last eight and a half years, and last year she even won the mirror ball trophy when she was partnered with iHeartCountry's Bobby Bones! This is the first time that a champion dancer has not been invited back the season after taking the mirrorball trophy.
Sharna sat down with Katie Krause from Entertainment Tonight and opened up about the situation. As you can imagine, she was disappointed about not being invited back... she even talked about pulling over on the side of the road and crying when she got the call... but all things considered, she has THE BEST possible attitude about the whole ordeal.
