Dale Jr., his wife Amy, their daughter Isla, and two pilots were aboard a plane that crashed in east Tennessee this afternoon. According to a tweet sent out by Dale's sister Kelley (below), everyone is safe and they have been taken to the hospital for further evaluation. She also mentioned that no further info is available at this time.
The manager of the Elizabethton Airport said that the plane skid off of the end of the runway and caught on fire. Video was of the fire was caught by Twitter user Cody Harding and tweeted out by Asheville TV station WLOS. Elizabethton is down the road, where the NASCAR Truck, Xfinity, and Monster Energy series are racing tonight, tomorrow, and Saturday, respectively.
