Remember last year's BofA Roval 400 finish?

I was SO excited to learn that Chris Lane will be playing the prerace concert before this year's Bank of America Roval 400. Our Kernersville born, UNC Charlotte educated boy has done so well for himself! And now, he's coming home to perform before the big race at Charlotte Motor Speedway September 29th.

Hearing about Chris performing had me thinking about last year's race. It was the debut of the Roval and there were SO MANY unknowns going into it! But one thing was for sure... everyone was expecting an exciting finish and an INCREDIBLY exciting finish is what we all got! On the final lap, Martin Truex Jr was in the lead and Jimmie Johnson was hunting him down. You'll remember back in the day of Charlotte being Lowe's Motor Speedway, it was very much Jimmie's House! It only seemed fitting that Jimmie would make that last lap pass and win this race, but it wasn't meant to be. As the two duked it out, they got together and both spun, opening the door for third place Ryan Blaney to sneak through and steal the win. What a finish!!!

In case you missed it or want to see it again, here is the video. And be sure to get your tickets to this year's Bank of America Roval 400 to see Chris Lane and another great race! Here's a link.
