Taylor Swift fans support band who left Big Machine

By now, I'm sure you've heard about Taylor Swift's previous label being sold along with Taylor's music, Taylor's displeasure, the he said she said of it all... no need to rehash that...

But there is a cool story to emerge from all of this! The band Delta Rae, who is from Durham and was signed under the Big Machine Label Group to Valory Records (the same label as Thomas Rhett, Justin Moore, Brantley Gilbert, and others), announced to their followers earlier this week that they left the Big Machine Label Group to go independent. While it wasn't specified, odds are that their leaving the label happened long before Big Machine was sold and they are just now announcing it. But regardless, Delta Rae announced that they are working on an album right now. "The Light" will be released 3/20/20, which will be followed by "The Dark" to be released later.

They asked for help from their fans. Releasing an album is expensive and they just didn't have the funds on their own, so they started a Kickstarter campaign to hopefully get funds. They were looking for $30,000 to make "The Light," and $60,000 total to make "The Light" and "The Dark." Well, Swifites got wind of this and came flocking to help! As of me typing this article Wednesday afternoon around 3:45, Delta Rae has received $173,325 in donations from 1316 backers! And they still have 57 days left to go in their campaign! Something tells me that more money is going to come flocking in!

If you're looking to chip in, or even if you just want to follow along, here is a link to their Kickstarter campaign.

Here is the tweet that started it all. It's amazing to see the support from Taylor Swift fans in the comments...
