I think Runaway June is A-MAZE-ING!!!!! The trio made up of Jennifer Wayne, Hannah Mulholland, and Naomi Cooke is the first female trio in more than a decade to earn three top 40 hits, and they are the first female band or trio in 14 years to score a top 20 song with their latest hit "Buy My Own Drinks." Today, they FINALLY released their full-length album "Blue Roses," which has been a long time coming. They have been together for four years, but when you see them and hear them, it's as if they have been together for a lifetime because they are so seamless!
The girls were nice enough to take time to call earlier today and chat about the album as well as being on the road with Carrie Underwood and kicking off that tour right here in North Carolina at the Greensboro Coliseum! Here is our chat in it's entirety. And do yourself a favor...grab a copy of "Blue Roses" and check out Runaway June next time they come around. They're so great!
About RUNAWAY JUNE:
Lauded by Billboard as the “Next Hot Trend in Country Music” and likened to a ‘Dixie Chicks for a new generation,’ Runaway June’s organic three-part harmonies and ringing strings have established them as a top new group with its “inescapable talent” (AXS.com). The BBR Music Group/Wheelhouse Records act is comprised of the vocal stylings and musicianship of Naomi Cooke (lead vocals, guitar); Hannah Mulholland (vocals; mandolin); and Jennifer Wayne (vocals; guitar).
