Joey Logano wins NASCAR Championship

The final race of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series this afternoon at Homestead-Miami Speedway is exactly what you want to see in a Championship race, as there was no shortage of excitement when it came down to the end!  The Championship 4, the four guys eligible for a championship, were Kyle Busch (starting 2nd), Martin Truex Jr. (starting 3rd), Joey Logano (starting 5th), and Kevin Harvick (starting 12th).

The Championship 4 seemed to take turns leading.  Logano led a race-high 80 laps.  Harvick led 58, Truex Jr led 20, Busch led 21, plus non-contenders Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson led 41 and 45 laps, respectively.  But in the end, it was Joey Logano who won the race after a dramatic pass for the lead, making him the season Champion.  It is Logano's first title and he has become NASCAR's 33rd champion.  Truex Jr finished 2nd, Harvick 3rd, and Busch 4th.

Here are some of the tweets that followed Logano's win.
