Dale Jr., sister Kelley honored by Gov. Cooper

Big congratulations are certainly in order for Dale Jr and Kelley Earnhardt.  Yesterday, Governor Roy Cooper presented the two with North Carolina's Order of the Long Leaf Pine.  Since 1963, Governors in North Carolina have presented this award to people who have made significant contributions to their communities by way of their exceptional service and accomplishments.  Those who are honored with this award become North Carolina Ambassadors, and their names and award dates go into a roster maintained by the Order of the Long Leaf Pine Society.  You can read more about it here.

To sum it up, it is a pretty big deal!

Here is Governor Cooper's tweet of him presenting the award to Junior.

Dale Jr retweeted the picture, saying he was surprised, humbled, and he congratulated his sister.

Kelley also recognized the honor on her Twitter account.

Congrats certainly go out to the Earnhardts for receiving such a wonderful recognition and for being such great ambassadors to our state!
