Jake Worthington shared the first photos of his newborn daughter shortly after he and his wife welcomed Baby No. 1.
The country star and former contestant on The Voice introduced daughter Whitley Anne Worthington in an Instagram post on Friday evening (November 1). Whitley was born at 1:41 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, at 7.7 lbs and 20 inches, Worthington announced.
“I never knew I would be capable of receiving a gift like this. The feeling is very real and unexplainable. (It's the closest) I’ve heard is finding out what we were born to do,” Worthington shared. “We are absolutely over the moon about welcoming this little lady into the world. Sophie [Worthington’s wife] is healthy and so is Whitley! I have God and only God to thank for this lense of life to get to look through, and live in. I am so grateful, and the luckiest man alive for the woman, and little girl in my life! We appreciate our friends and family for helping us welcome this little girl home, and into this little big ol little world! From mine to yours, we love you!”
Worthington and his wife, Sophie, got married in 2022. The Texas Country Music Association's reigning Male Artist of the Year and Country Album of the Year winner spoke with iHeartCountry on the red carpet at the 2024 CMT Music Awards earlier this year. Worthington — who sang “Don’t Close Your Eyes” by Keith Whitley during his blind audition on The Voice in 2014 — confirmed at the April 7 awards show, “we got us a little one on the way.
“We’re praying for a healthy mama and a healthy baby, and ready to see life through that lens,” Worthington said. He added that his growing family is “the greatest honor I have to this day.”
