Miranda Lambert revealed the nine final shows of her fiery Las Vegas Residency, Velvet Rodeo, slated to take place in early 2024. The powerhouse country star made the announcement on Monday morning (December 4), reliving some unforgettable moments from the show in a reel set to her 2007 anthem, “Gunpowder & Lead.”
Lambert kicked off her residency in September 2022, deeming it a “one-of-a-kind” experience and knowing that “you need to bring your A game,” to the Vegas stage. Lambert performs her career-spanning hits in a wardrobe filled with sequins, fringe and even flames during the show.
Velvet Rodeo’s name stems from a lyric in Lambert’s Palomino anthem, “Actin’ Up.” She shared with host Amy Brown during her exclusive iHeartCountry Album Release show, held at her Nashville bar, that she’s “built a career on being feminine and still keeping a bada** edge, and I think that’s important and I felt like Velvet Rodeo would encompass that,” Lambert said of her residency’s name, inspired by a line in “Actin’ Up.” She added later: “(Velvet Rodeo) felt like my catalog as a whole, and it’s a line in the new song and it just felt very Vegas to me. …(the venue) felt like a big honky tonk, and that’s really my vibe.”
Lambert has a few more Velvet Rodeo shows in December, and is set to pick up again on March 20 with performances spanning to April 6. Tickets will be available to the general public on Friday (December 8). See Lambert’s announcement here:
