Kelsea Ballerini shared a video of the heartwarming moment Chase Stokes surprised her at a recent tour stop. The “HEARTFIRST” superstar stepped off the plane and stopped in her tracks when she realized Stokes was there waiting for her.
Ballerini jumped into the Outer Banks stars’ arms and the couple embraced in a long hug. She shared on her Instagram story that she’s on tour and he’s busy filming, “but he still flew from Charleston to Seattle for 24 hours to surprise me and see the show.” Ballerini’s Instagram followers gushed over that moment as they watched the video, appearing on the second slide of Ballerini’s post on Monday evening (June 26). The post comes shortly after fans shared video of a moment between Ballerini and Stokes on TikTok, when Ballerini paused before singing the line “I kissed someone new last night” in Penthouse,” one of the tracks on her Rolling Up The Welcome Mat EP. She quickly ran offstage to meet Stokes in the wings, kissing him and pointing to him as she sang that line.
Stokes noted that Ballerini “says she hates surprises” as he shared a photo on in Instagram story. Ballerini responded as she commented on his post that included the same photo: “welp. turns out, i don’t actually hate surprises. best 24 hours. ugh my heart. 🤍”
Stokes recently said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, “I'll take the job, I'll take it,” when asked about his “golden retriever” boyfriend status. He added that Ballerini “seriously is the best human being on planet Earth and she's so damn talented.”
Ballerini confirmed earlier this year that she and Stokes were in a relationship. Rumors of the budding romance started to swirl on social media first started after Stokes posted a few photos on Instagram, including one with Ballerini, sitting closely next to one another at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, where they attended the College Football Playoff National Championship on January 9. They began talking in early December.
