Luke Combs posted an epic video of the moment he approached a concertgoer at the edge of the stage and took their phone as they recorded a video of the powerhouse artist’s performance. Combs held the phone close to his mic as during the show, turning it for a shot of the cheering crowd. He said in his caption that he “almost forgot to give the phone back…”

It happened at Albertsons Stadium in Boise, Idaho, while Combs sang “Beer Never Broke My Heart.” Combs released the smash-hit anthem on his 18-track album, What You See Is What You Get, in 2019: “Longneck, ice cold beer never broke my heart/ Like diamond rings and football teams/ Have torn this boy apart/ Like a neon dream it just dawned on me/ The bars and this guitar/ And longneck, ice cold beer never broke my heart.”

Combs is currently on his massive world tour — which includes Riley GreenLainey WilsonFlatland CavalryBrent CobbCody Johnson and Lane Pittman on select dates — after the release of his latest 18-track album, Gettin’ Old, the follow-up to Growin Up, which dropped in 2022 (and earned him the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards Country Album of the Year victory). The collection is packed with fan-favorites like “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old,” “Hannah Ford Road,” “Love You Anyway,” “Take You With Me,” “Tattoo on a Sunburn,” “5 Leaf Clover,” his cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” and others.

“This album is about the stage of life I’m in right now,” Combs previously explained. “One that I’m sure a lot of us are in, have been through, or will go through. It’s about coming of age, loving where life is now but at the same time missing how it used to be, continuing to fall for the one you love and loving them no matter what, living in the moment but still wondering how much time you have left, family, friends, being thankful, and leaving a legacy. Me and so many others have poured their hearts and souls into this record and I hope you love it as much as we do.”
