WCNC's weather man, Larry Sprinkle, gained some extra attention yesterday during Belmont's Christmas Parade when the car he was riding in caught fire. According to WCNC, Larry's been riding in the same 1962 Thunderbird car in the Belmont parade for a decade now. Video footage captured by Jessica Armstrong Peterson, shows the moment the car caught fire. The crowd began yelling, "Get out of the car!!!" Thankfully, Larry and the driver were able to get out safely. Belmont firefighters put out the fire quickly and moved the car aside so the parade could continue.
