Stanley's Youth Baseball Achieves Rare Honors With District Sweep

The vision of Tug Deason, Stanley's Recreation Director, has provided the town of Stanley with the "field of dreams." In 2013 Deason raised more than two million dollars to fund Harper Park with ball fields, playgrounds, picnic shelters and more. Now, eight years later, the town is experiencing the fruit of his labor.

It was a clean sweep!!! Over the weekend, all three divisions of Stanley's Dixie Youth All Star teams defeated their competition to become district champs in each of their divisions. Stanley’s Coach Pitch Team, 9-10 year olds and 11-12 year old team are now competing for the state championship in the weeks to come.

BIG CONGRATULATIONS to all three teams, the kids and the coaches! The teams are now fundraising to help offset the cost of their trip to state. Wanna help the kiddos? Reach out to Tug Deason for more information: tdeason@townofstanley.org

Good luck at State... bring us back the trophy!!
