Gov. Roy Cooper Announces Phase 2.5, Goes Into Effect Friday at 5pm

North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper announced Phase 2.5 guidelines Tuesday afternoon. The state will enter the new phase at 5pm on Friday, September 4, 2020.

Gyms are now allowed to open at 30% capacity, along with museums and aquariums at 50%. Playgrounds are also allowed to be used. Bars, night clubs, movie theaters and indoor entertainment spaces must remain closed.

Indoor gatherings are allowed to increase to 25 people, while outdoor gatherings can increase to 50.

People 65 years of age and older are still encouraged to remain safe at home.

The 11pm curfew on alcohol sales has been extended to October 2.
