Heart Association Says to Watch for These Signs of Stroke, Heart Attack

"Don't Die of Doubt"

The Heart Association wants to make sure patients are getting the help they need. Hospitals are still a safe place to be when medical emergencies strike. Don't delay and call 911 immediately if you notice signs of stroke or heart attack.

If you notice stroke symptoms, remember to act F.A.S.T.

  • Face drooping or numbness
  • Arm weakness
  • Slurred speech
  • Time to call 911

Heart attack symptoms include:

  • Discomfort or pressure in the chest, arms, stomach, back, neck or jaw
  • Shortness of breath
  • Cold sweat
  • Nausea
  • Light-headed
