NFL player suspended for season because of vicious shot to the head

Oakland Raiders linebacker Vontaze Burfict has been suspended for the rest of the season after a flagrant helmet to helmet hit against the Colts. It's now the longest suspension in NFL history, but the NFL also factored the 3 previous times he's been suspended for unnecessary roughness. The NFL's VP of Football Operations wrote Burfict a letter saying, quote, "Following each of your previous rule violations, you were warned by me and each of the jointly-appointed officers that future violations would result in escalated accountability measure." "...However, you have continued to flagrantly abuse rules designated to protect yourself and your opponents from unnecessary risk."

Burfict will not be paid for the season and the suspension lasts through the playoffs.

In my opinion it doesn't get anymore flagrant than this. As a dad who watches football with my 6 year old, there is no room for this guy in the NFL. I say ban him from the league. What, 4th time's not a charm?
