This story shatters my heart. What was supposed to be a joyous time tragically turned into sorrow. Louisiana residents Steven Weber and his girlfriend Kenesha Antoine were enjoying vacation on Pemba Island. It was a special vacation because Weber had planned to ask his girlfriend to become his wife. It was such a romantic proposal. Weber dove underwater and held up a note that read "I can't hold my breath long enough to tell you everything I love about you, will you please be my wife. Marry me? " Weber never surfaced from the water. He tragically drowned during the proposal.
His devastated girlfriend wrote "You never emerged from those depths, so you never got to hear my answer, “Yes! Yes! A million times, yes, I will marry you!!”
