WSOC is reporting live from an apparent home explosion in Ballantyne. The explosion happened just before 2pm. The home was located right off James Jack Lane off Ballantyne Commons Parkway. There is nothing left of the home, it was completely leveled out. Channel 9 is reporting the home was valued at around $800,000.
Charlotte Firefighters have asked for extra man power to help out there. People who live and work in the area heard the explosion and felt their computers shake. There is no word if there was anyone inside the home during the time of the explosion. Officials treated at least two people from nearby homes but they are expected to be ok.
