David Tepper Expected to Be New Owner of Panthers

ESPN's Adam Schefter announced Tuesday that David Tepper is expected to be the new owner of the Carolina Panthers. After he signs, the deal would most likely be approved at the owners meetings in Atlanta next week.

Tepper is expected to buy the Panthers for $2.2 billion, an NFL record. Tepper currently owns five percent of the Pittsburgh Steelers and is expected to mirror the business side of the franchise, according to Schefter. Tepper is the founder of global hedge fund Appaloosa Management.
