Clothing Drive for Charlotte Families Displaced From Apartment Fire

Early Monday morning, July 17, a massive 3-alarm fire displaced 130 people from an apartment building in east Charlotte.

The fire at the Woodscape Apartments on Farm Pond Lane started around 1 a.m. and seven people were taken to the hospital for injuries.

The fire displaced 130 people and pets leaving them without a place to stay.

The Red Cross has arranged a clothing drive for the residents affected and are asking for help from the community in donations. 

They have opened a shelter for families at Albemarle Road Middle School. Anyone looking to assist families can make a financial donation at RedCross.org

You can donate clothing at the Crisis Assistance Ministry at 500 Spratt St. in Charlotte. You can drop off clothing Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m .and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
