Gin Mill to Take Place of Amos' Southend This Summer

Amos' Southend will close its doors as a live music venue in March, but the building will not be torn down to make way for apartments like many local spots.  Instead, The Gin Mill will move into the venue and offer a bar and restaurant.

The Gin Mill sits next door and is owned by John Ellison, who also own Amos' Southend.  This summer, Gin Mill will open as a neighborhood bar and restaurant offering sandwiches, appetizers, flatbreads, wings and a full bar.

It will not be a live music venue save for a small stage for weekend local music.

The Amos' Southend building will undergo a facelift, exposing the building's brick facade, a rooftop area will be added and an outdoor, dog-friendly patio will go in place.

This is good news for those who have seen some favorite spots close due to corporate development in the area.  The Common Market closed and will reopen less than a mile away, Phat Burrito will close Saturday due to lack of parking and declining sales and Amos' Southend's live music branch will end the weekend of March 3.
