Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams sent out an email to all of its employees letting them know an online hack on Jan. 23 exposed 1,100 W2 forms to hackers.
The company made the Internal Revenue Service aware the same day it happened and are offering $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
WSOC-TV says deputies and employees have told them hackers have already started using the information obtained to file tax returns.
The IRS are meeting with Alexander County deputies to investigate.
