Before they were BLUKE, they were just two country stars bonding over country dancing.

Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan, who reunite tonight (3/20) on The Voice when Luke mentors the artists on Team Blake, have a decade of friendship under their belt buckles.

But how exactly did they know they’d be friends?

“I miss you, buddy. I love you,” Blake says as he hugs the other half of BLUKE in a Voice digital exclusive. “I first met Luke... I think it was an awards show. I guess it was 2007. That would have been the first year I met him. The conversation was about line-dancing when we realized we were going to be friends.”

Blake adds it took him “12 season to get” Luke to mentor his team, his first crop of undiscovered talent since claiming his record fifth victory with country-soul singer Sundance Head in 2016.

See Luke and Blake together again on The Voice, airing Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC.
