The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services shared a list of eleven North Carolina hospitals receiving the first shipment of the COVID19 vaccine. These locations were chosen due to having the "greatest capacity for ultra-cold storage."

- Catawba Valley Medical Center
- Cumberland County Hospital System INC
- Duke University Health System
- Henderson County Hospital Corporation
- Hoke Healthcare LLC
- The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Hospital (CMC)
- University of North Carolina shared services agreement
- Wake Forest Baptist Health
