The Simple Thing That Helps Kelsea Ballerini Feel 'In Control' Of Her Life

Kelsea Ballerini's career has been a whirlwind.

Pre-lockdown, the country superstar was traveling all across the world on tour, going to award shows or doing press, sometimes being in two completely different states (or countries) on the same day. All of that constant moving and changing can no doubt impact a person's life.

But now, since she's been in one place for months, the longest ever, she's begun taking time to do things differently by nurturing her mind and body.

The "Hole In The Bottle" singer appeared on the cover of Shape and opened up about the one thing she's started to do that has helped her feel in control of her life — and it's something we can all do as well: have a routine!

“To be honest, routine always sounded boring, but now it's something that helps me feel like I'm in control of my life. I'm baby-stepping my way into it.” she explained. “Little things, like when you get out of bed, make the bed. Get outside for 30 minutes a day. Sit on the porch. Take the dog for a walk. I'm building that into my life, and it's not boring at all. It's really helping me feel that ownership of my life that I need.”

Ballerini went on to explain that she always thought 'me time' was “so narcissistic” but soon realized it was essential to stay healthy and grounded. She even shared the simple things she does to take care of herself that may give you inspiration for your own "me time."

“I have a SoulCycle bike, and I love to do that. I am a hot-bath fanatic. I have all my essential oils, and I do that pretty much every night. I can show up in a more present way when I'm taking time for myself too," she said.
