Gabby Barrett cherishes heartwarming moments with her husband and kids as she pays tribute to the “Glory Days,” the first song of her forthcoming era. Barrett debuted the energetic anthem on Friday (June 9).

Barrett opens “Glory Days” by visualizing a sunset over the yard, resting her head on husband Cade Foehner’s shoulder as they watch their babies — Baylah May, who turned 2 in January, and Augustine Boone, born in October 2022 — “laughin’ and pickin’ daisies, catchin’ the fireflies in a jar.”: “This is as good as it gets, I don't know what I would change/ I love this life that we live, I love that smile on your face/ No, we ain't gotta look back at all those pictures in frames/ And wish it'd all stay the same/ ‘Cause right here, right now I say, ‘These are the glory days’”

“Glory Days” marks the “beginning of this next chapter of music,” Barrett said. The American Idol alum, 23, credited Seth Mosley, Emily Weisband, and James McNair with teaming up with her to write the song. Barrett appeared on The Bobby Bones Show, dishing about “Glory Days” and how it captures the most meaningful moments of her life. Watch her interview below.

“This song means so much to me and is about all the little things that make my life so full,” Barrett said in a statement. “These are my ‘Glory Days’ and I’m so excited to introduce my sophomore album with it.”

Barrett’s highly-anticipated upcoming project follows her smash-hit debut album Goldmine, which released in 2020. That collection was known for its fan-favorite tracks like “I Hope” (which was also released as a duet with Charlie Puth) “The Good Ones,” “Footprints On The Moon,” and others. In a surprise announcement on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in 2021, Barrett revealed that she would release a deluxe edition. That project expanded the original album with “Pick Me Up,” “Never Get It Back,” “I Will Always Love You,” and “The Good Ones (Wedding Version).”
