Micah Edmunds - Hickory Grove Division

There’s a lot of ways you can identify a suspect: a footprint, writing style, clothing…and gait. Yep! That’s exactly how Officer Micah Edmunds identified the suspect who stole electronics from 12 different people in the Hickory Grove Division. Officer Edmunds first spotted the theft trend, and specifically asked for all 12 cases. After mapping each case, he worked with nearby apartment complexes to review surveillance video footage and noticed the suspect walked with a particular gait. Now, all he had to do was sit and watch people! It paid off, too. Officer Edmunds shared this information with his peers, and they spotted the suspect. The suspect ran when they tried talking to him, but Officer Edmunds was able to catch the suspect and make the arrest. He was in possession of a cell phone he had just stolen seconds before police saw him. The 14-year-old is now facing charges on many of the cases because of the observant eye of Officer Edmunds.
