Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who we came to know and love on his run on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars," has been sharing some horrifying videos from his home Country of Ukraine over the last week or so. Maks was in Kyiv, Ukraine's capital, when the war broke out. At one point he said that he was not trying to leave, as he assured his social media followers that he was safe. A few days later, he let his followers know that he had been arrested but still assured followers he was OK. In the same video, Maks told followers that he was going to try to make his way out, citing the arrest as "a reality check."

In another video that he captioned "I'm in Warsaw. I'm in hotel. I'm not OK," he let his followers know that he had indeed made it out of Ukraine safely. He told the story of ending up in Warsaw after a 23-hour trip. He mentioned that he feels guilty for taking up space on a crowded evacuation train, and refers to the entire ordeal as "traumatizing," but I think I speak for all of us when I say that we are glad that he is safe in Poland.

What a horrific ordeal for Maks and the beautiful people of Ukraine.
