It's Thursday, so let's throwback with The King!

"Amarillo By Morning" by George Strait will always be one of my all-time favorite songs. It's a great Country song with a great Country melody, but what makes it for me is that fiddle at the end. It is so haunting and real and every time I hear it, I get both goosebumps and tears! MAN! I love that song.

I love George Strait in general, and back in 2016, King George played a special show at Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, Texas. Seeing a show at Gruene Hall- any show- is a bucket list item for me. It is the oldest continually running dance hall in Texas, having first opened in 1878. Ever since, the patrons and Country Legends that have passed through their doors have been numerous. And it's only about 6000 square feet, so it's intimate. I bet there's not a bad view anywhere in the building!

So, can you imagine how cool it would've been to be at any George Strait show there??? George, being a Texan himself, played there numerous times in the dawn of his career, but as he got bigger and bigger, he, frankly, outgrew the place except for the occasional special show, including that now-famous surprise show there back in 2016 to celebrate the release of Strait Out of the Box Part II.
