Chatting with Alex Bowman

Alex Bowman is having the best season of his Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series career! Two weeks back, he was at the cutoff line for the playoffs and racing Charlotte's ROVAL while sick! To add to it, it was a sweltering hot day- more like July at Daytona than late September at Charlotte. Throughout the course of the race, he was in the championship, then out, then in, then out. When all was said and done, he finished the race in second place and was five points above the cutoff line, which advanced him into NASCAR's Round Of Twelve in the playoffs. That's the good news! The bad news was that he needed medical attention after the race, all while having to deal with an irate Bubba Wallace. Luckily, Bowman recovered just fine and this past weekend at Dover, he followed that second place Charlotte finish up with an impressive third place finish, which now has him 7th in points!

This weekend is anyone's guess, as the series heads to Talladega. Following Dega is Kansas, which is another cutoff race, and then the series hits the shortest track on the circuit, Martinsville Speedway, for the first race in the Round Of Eight. With Martinsville being so close, I have been there MANY times and I can say that it is a BLAST to go to! Plus, you gotta love the famous Martinsville hotdogs, which are still only $2! Even Alex Bowman thinks they're delicious! Tickets are available to Martinsville here, so grab your tickets and I'll see you at the track!

In the meantime, check out my chat with Alex Bowman, where we talked about those Charlotte and Dover finishes, his encounter with Bubba Wallace after the Charlotte race, and how he feels about racing at Dega and Martinsville. Here is our entire chat.
