Five North Carolina restaurants make Thrillist's "33 Best BBQ Joints" in US

If there's one thing we can all agree on in the Carolinas, it's that we LOVE barbecue! But I think that's about as far as the agreeing goes because everyone seems to have an opinion on the "best" barbecue. I am reasonably sure that if you ask 10 people what their favorite barbecue restaurant is, you will get ten different answers. OK, maybe you'll get nine different answers, but you get my point...

Thrillist just released their list of "The 33 Best BBQ Joints In America," and of the 33, North Carolina claimed five spots! South Carolina claimed another two, both in Charleston. They didn't rank the best- the list was alphabetical as opposed to ranked- but making the list from North Carolina was Buxton Hall Barbecue in Asheville, Grady's Barbecue in Dudley, Lexington Barbecue in (duh) Lexington, Skylight Inn BBQ in Ayden, and Sweet Lew's Barbecue in Charlotte. The two in Charleston were Lewis Barbecue and Rodney Scott's Whole Hog BBQ. See the entire list here.

And check out some of these mouthwatering pictures from the various restaurants' Instagram accounts (and the accounts of a couple visitors). Hungry yet? I know I am!!!
