Congratulations to Jake Owen. Saturday night, Jake was honored with the 2019 Randy Owen Angels Among Us award for his amazing work with St. Jude over the years.
I was actually in Memphis over the weekend for the annual Country Cares for St. Jude Kids seminars. These seminars happen once a year, where radio stations from all across the country converge on Memphis, get together and share success stories and ideas to make our radiothons better (you'll remember that we do radiothons for St. Jude every December), and we tour the hospital. This weekend's seminar capped off Saturday night with Jake receiving the award from Randy, and after that, there was an impromptu jam session with Jake, Randy, Michael Ray, and Clint Black. It was a very special night!
Here is a picture of Jake receiving the award from Randy Owen and Rick Shadyac, the CEO of ALSAC, which is the fundraising and awareness organization of St. Jude
The ACM also made a $50,000 donation to St. Jude in Jake's name to honor him for the night and to help St. Jude.
