Everybody expected Kevin Harvick to be good at Texas.
Since joining Stewart-Haas Racing in 2014, Harvick has finished in the top 4 at Texas six times out of 9 races prior to yesterday, including a win last November. Yesterday, in a car that was heads and shoulders above the rest of the field, Kevin scored his second win at Texas, bringing that top 4 total to seven out of 10 races. He also swept the stages and lead a race-high 177 laps, scoring his eighth win of the season and securing his spot into the Championship 4 in Homestead November 18th.
But NOBODY expected what Harvick did after winning.
As dominate as Harvick was yesterday, what he did after winning the race will be what people remember for years to come. Kevin spotted a young race fan in the stands, got out of his car, walked over and pulled the young fan through the catch fence, took a selfie with him right there at the start-finish line, helped the kid back into the grandstand, and then gave him the checkered flag.
Have you ever seen a more awesome, classier move from a race car driver immediately upon winning a big race? (The answer is no, by the way!!) If you missed it or just want to see it again, check this out...
Here is the selfie everyone is talking about with the caption "NewProfilePic." So cool!
