Jimmy Buffett's Broadway Musical "Escape to Margaritaville" had so many Parrotheads in attendance at the sold out preview Friday night that the bar actually ran out of Margaritas! Apparently there was a Triple Sec shortage, and that forced the bar to cut off sales.
And the best part? The owners of the bar at the Broadway Theater showing "Escape To Margaritavilla" own nine Broadway theaters dating back to 1912, and said that Friday night was "the largest one night bar sale in their history."
Nice!
"Escape to Margaritaville" features 27 Buffett songs, two of which were written specifically for the show.
And while today is National Margarita Day, "Escape to Margaritaville" doesn't have it's official opening until March 15. Let's hope the bar is restocked by then. Something tells me that a Margarita will be a hot ticket item.
Her's Jimmy performing the famous song back in 2010 at a benefit concert in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
