Wow. This just hit me hard. First off, I LOVED Daryle Singletary. That voice! How could you not love such a pure, Country-to-the-core voice?
I used to live in Lafayette, LA and have been to this night club a ton of times. It's called Cowboy's, and it's a fun place to go! Like Daryle, it's Country to the core. In fact, when I left Lafayette, Cowboy's is where my friends threw me a going away party. To see this stage, this club, this environment...and to know that this was Daryle's final performance is hitting me hard. So incredibly sad.
His last song was a cover of Johnny paycheck's Old Violin. The song ends with "We'd give our all to Country Music, and soon we'd give our life." He ended his show with that Saturday night, and Monday morning, Daryle passed, leaving behind a wife and four kids under the age of eight.
