While the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic continues to impact the Carolinas, the Speedway has partnered with The American Red Cross and OneBlood to host community blood and platelet drives at Charlotte Motor Speedway next week.
The track has scheduled donation drives for May 6th and May 8th to assist in providing a stable blood supply for patients in need. During this unprecedented shortage, healthy and eligible people who are feeling well are encouraged to consider donating blood.
To ensure all participants have the opportunity to donate, donations will be done by appointment. Information on how to schedule appointments, along with the location and times of the drives, can be found below.
Wednesday, May 6 - Red Cross Blood & Platelets Drive
WHEN: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
WHERE: Donors should proceed to the infield Paddock Club at Charlotte Motor Speedway using the Gate 26 tunnel (under Turn 3).
DETAILS: To schedule an appointment, visit www.redcrossblood.org and enter the key word “Lapsforlife”. All donors are required to wear a face covering or mask while at the drive, in alignment with new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention public guidance.
Friday, May 8 - Atrium Health & OneBlood Blood Drive
WHEN: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
WHERE: Donors should proceed to the infield Paddock Club at Charlotte Motor Speedway using the Gate 26 tunnel (under Turn 3).
